About
Erica Escobar is a 4th year Bachelor of Environmental Studies student with a minor in Geography at Saint Mary’s University in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Erica has completed a college degree in the Veterinary Technician program from Algonquin College in Ottawa, Ontario. After a brief time working as a Registered Veterinary Technician she decided to turn her focus on environmental issues.
She is currently working at the CCRN as a research assistant focusing on core themes that encompass the CCRN such as Women and Gender, Conservation, Indigenous Issues and more. Erica currently has a volunteer position with the Nova Scotia Environmental Network allowing her the opportunity to connect with local environmental organizations around Nova Scotia.
Erica enjoys traveling, she has visited several South East Asian countries and looks forward to more travelling opportunities in the future. Her professional interests include gender focused environmental initiatives, wildlife conservation and environmental justice.
